A Year For Space

Church News

This was was first brought on Sunday 5th January 2020

“First this: God created the Heavens and Earth—all you see, all you don’t see. Earth was a soup of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, an inky blackness. God’s Spirit brooded like a bird above the watery abyss.

God spoke: “Light!” And light appeared. God saw that light was good and separated light from dark. God named the light Day, he named the dark Night. It was evening, it was morning— Day One.”

Genesis 1:1-5 MSG

A new day, one called out of nothing.
But in the space is where I move.
In the space is where I create.
In the space is where I speak and am heard.
The space is where I call and commission

In this new day I am calling you to create space, to open your lives and your hearts.
To Make space for my word, space for my presence.

For it is on the blank pages that together we write the next chapter of your story.
It’s on the blank canvas but the beautiful picture is painted.
It’s in the space that the tree can grow to be all it was meant to be
In the space is where you find true freedom.

Make space in your families, make space in your homes, make space in your times together and your times alone.

It’s in the space where the hopeless find hope
Where the joyless find joy.
It’s in your space where the lonely find a home
Where the hurting find refuge.

In the space hand are laid and the sick are healed.
In the space the young shout for joy and feel safe.
In the space the wisdom is heard.

In the space I move, I transform.

In the space my grace moves beautifully.

Make 2020 a year for space, a new day of grace.
