Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.

Hebrews 12:1

It’s time to start running again. Some of you have stopped running your race due to discouragement and have grown tired and weary. Come to me and I will refresh you. Some have stopped running and sought to look at others for encouragement. Come back to your first love. Some have stopped running because of sin. Throw off the sin, so you can start a new year running, fixing your eyes on me.

When he opens a door, no one can close it, and what he shuts no one can open.

Revelation 3:7

2022 is the year of open doors. At Morrisons, Waterloo, there is a revolving door, and, at the right time, there is a gap that allows you to walk in. As we run, Jesus will open doors for us – doors of new opportunities, new grace, new jobs, new houses, and new beginnings. Some of you have been praying for years and, at the right time, doors will now open. It will be a Kairos moment. Wineskins have been prepared by God for years and new wine will come in and be poured out this year.

Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.Who is he, this King of glory? The LORD Almighty– he is the King of glory.

Psalm 24:7-9

We should start the year running, focusing on Jesus, and, with thanksgiving and praise, glorifying him.
